What's Your Bookprint?
To get books into the hands of kids who would otherwise be without, Scholastic has created a fun way to make a donation. Whenever someone creates a free Bookprint, Scholastic will donate a book via Reach Out and Read. Up to one million books will be donated and there's still a ways to go with the current donation count under 26,000. Making a Bookprint is easy, but narrowing down the five books that helped shape who you are can be difficult! Once you've created your Bookprint, you can share it with others using the created widget. You can also check out the Bookprints of others including authors Meg Cabot, Suzanne Collins, and Jodi Picoult.
Founded in 1989 at Boston Medical Center, Reach Out and Read is a nonprofit that works with doctors and other medical professionals to encourage parents to read to their children and provide age-appropriate books. Reach Out and Read serves over 3.9 million families each year and gives more than 6.4 million books to children annually.
