The White Queen
By: Phillipa Gregory

The story of protective Elizabeth Grey, the Queen of medieval England... In the first of a new series, Phillipa Gregory's new novel is about Elizabeth Grey.  King Edward is the ruler of England.  His brother, Gregory, is against him and is trying to take the crown away from him.  Elizabeth's marriage to King Edward IV provides him with more supporters when some of his closest allies become traitors.  A lot of detail is provided about the kind of person Elizabeth was.  The story goes into detail about her relationship with Edward, and how, during a time of war, Elizabeth protects her children as best as she could. I have liked all of the previous Phillipa Gregory novels I've read, and this one was no exception.  She uses actual historical events to create very interesting novels, even if all of the facts aren't accurate.  But that doesn't take away from the story.  In The White Queen, Gregory tells a story that has a great plot and all the elements that I love in historical fiction, including romance, mystery and historical aspects. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in any of these genres, and I can't wait to see where she starts her next story.
