The castle of your dreams...or is it? Sophie FitzOsborne was born into a life everyone dreams of having. She has an uncle, who just happens to be king, a castle to live in, and her own personal zoo area. Her life, however, is far different from what it appears to be. The castle she lives in is tiny and falling apart. The small kingdom of Montmaray, ruled by her uncle, is not what it used to be, with only the “royal family” inhabiting the island. Alongside her sister, Henry, and her cousin, Veronica, Sophie must cope with the day to day mess of living in Montmaray. After receiving a journal on her 16th birthday, Sophie writes a detailed account of her life on the island. In this book, you enter a fairytale gone wrong.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes reading books written in the style of a journal. While the first couple of chapters dragged and Sophie could have used further development, the plot of the book grabs your attention and keeps you interested. This book is certainly unpredictable.
