I So Don't Do Spooky
By: Barrie Summy

In I So Don't Do Spooky, Sherry Holmes Baldwin is an eighth grader with normal teenage problems. She's got a best friend who is just starting out with boys. A step mom who is a little too organized AND her teacher at the same time. Having a boyfriend that every other girl likes as well. Then there are her not so normal problems.... Like having a ghost for a mom and being called on by the Academy of Spirits to solve the mystery of who is stalking her step mom. The two worlds collide and great adventure and lots of mystery takes place.

This is a cute book. I'm a mom of two teenaged boys, so I can't recommend this book for them because it is definitely an ALL girl book! I would have loved it when I was a kid though. I loved mysteries; I loved the supernatural (still do if you couldn't tell by some of my other reviews). This fits all of that, with little family lessons thrown in to the story as well. I think this is a nice, fun, cute book for any young reader, but especially younger girls. This book gives a great view on how to adjust to step parents and dealing with problems of all sorts. It shows young girls that even though they may not think they are smart or strong, they are and can be heroines in their own family. I think this is an excellent book to give to young girls between the ages of 9 - 13. I highly recommend it!
