Caleb + Kate
By: Cindy Martinusen-Coloma
Caleb and Kate is a young adult romance novel which encompasses the idea of a modern day Romeo and Juliet. Caleb was a boy who had just moved back home with his father. There, he works at the hotel Monrovi Inn, the same place his father works. While there, Caleb encounters Kate, heiress of the Monrovi Inn. He is instantly attracted to her, and can’t help himself. The only problem is their families have been sworn enemies since their grandparents. Both Caleb and Kate cannot deny their attraction for each other, but are they willing to risk everything for the sake of love. This book changes between Caleb and Kate's point of view.

I really enjoyed this book for the purpose that it followed a classic love story. Yeah there weren’t any sword fights but Cindy Martinusen-Coloma writes as if you are in the head of the character. I felt as though I myself was going through what Kate was going through. At times I felt myself yelling mentally at Kate for the many, many stupid things she does. The ending did absolutely make my heart drop, in a good way though. Overall I would recommend this to anyone who wants to read a romance novel.
