We Shall Overcome
By: Stuart Stotts
We shall Overcome a song that changed the world by Stuart Stotts is the story of a song that changed history through its inspirational reach of the human spirit. Much like many American legends, this song started from very humble origins to become a titan of change. This song has actively participated in many defining moments in history such as the Civil War, the labor movement, the civil rights movement, and recently on the night of President Obama's, the first black American President, election. This song also affected many a movement throughout the rest of the world.

The song and its history will inspire the youngest to the oldest of readers and its pictures only help to illustrate its inpiration not demine it to the mear status of a children's book. I never knew of this song until now but it's so inspiring how just a simple piece of music played such an immense role in such defining events in history. It's also so inspiring to read about how music, in its essence, is such an immense and contagious source of strength. It  shows that not only money, fame or glory have such powerful influences on actions in this world but music can indeed change the world.
