Exile
By: Anne Osterlund

Aurelia is suddenly whipped from crown princess to exiled royalty. Her family is truly nothing anymore, after a murder attempt by her sister and a lack of help from her father. And on top of that, her feelings for Robert, her love interest during the previous ordeal, are still on edge even after his denial. However, other than that, Aurelia is convinced that she should not be in any danger.

However, even in her new exiled life, her past is coming to haunt her. First, she’s hit with more betrayal until the only person left to trust is Robert, the last person she wants to confuse herself with. Then, her mother, the woman who abandoned her, is trying to summon her back. Aurelia is forced to face the facts and take on the new obstacles that block her way towards the life she wants, regardless of the violence, the traitors, and the love.

Exile is a companion to Aurelia, and it continues Aurelia’s story. I received a pleasant and unexpected surprise in this book from page one I was drawn into the story. Anne Osterlund’s writing is beautiful and the way she uses it to weave a plot is captivating. Exile hosts a great romance between Aurelia and Robert and helped keep the book interesting and gripping.

However, while Exile is romantic, it also contains enough action and mystery to keep it from becoming a repetitive love story. I recommend this novel highly to fans of these types of well-rounded adventures, because Exile really has everything a good story needs. However, I would suggest reading Aurelia first. I did not, and even though explanations allowed me to follow the plot, they also spoiled the ending to the first book. Regardless, I will be reading Aurelia now, because I enjoyed Exile so much.
