Hi there!
What was your SN before you changed it? Maybe I might know you.
Lol, I totally understand you about your taste in books. I have a HUGE list of books that I have read and just DYING to go and buy. I just finished reading a book by Stephen Fry called Revenge. It's like a witty take on of the Count of Monte Cristo.
All the Roma Sub Rosa books by Steven Saylor (books that have to do with ancient Rome. Not as stuffy as it's sounds, it's witty and they usually have alot of twists and turns!)
Madras on rainy days - Is a MUST read. It talks about a muslim indian young woman who is going back to india to get married, while her body is in the middle of miscarrying from her forbidden affair that she had before she left. Very deep, very real, VERY eye opening novel. It's by Samina Ali. I strongly suggest you read it.
Stolen from Gypsies - Very funny book. Kinda Hunchback of Notre Dame, Robin Hoodesqe. Hilarious.
Fool - Christopher Moore (very funny take on of king Leer!)
The Angels Game - Carlos Ruiz Zafron (talks about a writer in spain during the 30's who moves in to this house that has all these weird secrets and ghosts. LOVE the twists in that book. You start out thinking you know, but by the end the author has you totally on the other side of the universe!)
Book Of Night Women - Marlon James. Talks about Jamaica in the early 1800's and a baby slave girl who was born with green eyes, which the other slaves believes holds certain power. When she gets older she tries to find her own place in the house of the Master, but the other slaves would like her to help them lead a rebellion. Wasn't as dense as I thought it would be. Again, things happened in that book that I did NOT expect.
Aztec Fire and Aztec Rage by Robert Gleason and Junis Podrug. Funny, loads of adventure, eye opening. A good easy read.
I have tons and tons and tons and tons more. My fingers don't have the energy.
