Hi, I'm Julie! I was very involved in Book Divas when I was transitioning from middle to high school and discovering who I was (I am now 22 and a senior in college). I still have books on my shelf that I received through Book Divas, and have to the community for giving me a sense of self-worth and making me realize how important reading was to me. I decided to re-start my account with my original username because I am thinking about getting my MFA in Creative Writing sometime in the next few years. I've always had a love for YA Fiction and would love to get back involved with the community!

I've been reading a lot of Romantic novels for class but have been secretly dying to start John Green's new novel. Thank god spring break is coming up!

Anyone from the early 2000s, let me know!

My name is Rebecca and I will be turning fourteen in December. I have always loved reading. I mostly read classics (Bronte; Austen; Shakespear; ect.) but I also love fantasys. I can not stand the Twilight Saga, I can't really explain why. I love Iron & Wine and Blue Foundation.
I started writing about two years ago, but stoped because I was put down so much I didn't think I could make it as a writer. I eventually started writing again and have just started a new blog called A Year In Words. You can find it at:

Please follow, I can use all of the encouragement I can get.

Hi Andrea & Dannie - thanks

Hi Andrea & Dannie - thanks for introducing yourself!! It is great to meet you.

Dannie - We should make Chuck Norris' birthday a national veg day. That's pretty great that you got to meet Tamora Pierce and Cassandra Clare too. *jealous*

Andrea - that is a great intro about how you started writing. I would love to hear more about your journey to getting The Chosen published. We post quite a bit of fantasy reviews so you can also try searching for them on our site. Here's a link: http://bookdivas.com/search/node/fantasy

Thanks again! So great to meet you guys and look forward to most posts :)

Hi Dannie

It's nice to see I'm not the only new face around here. I think it's very cool that you got to meet some of your favorite authors, and even interview one! Take care.

Hey!
My name is Danielle, but everyone knows me as Dannie. I am thirteen, and have just started my last year of Junior High. I have always been a bookworm. A few of my favorite authors are:
Stephen King, Tamora Pierce, J.K. Rowling, Holly Black, Brian Mandabach, Scott Westerfeld, Cassandra Clare, and James Patterson.
I met Tamora Pierce in person about three years ago, and interviewed her for an author project at my school. She was super friendly, and had interesting answers to my questions! I also met Cassandra Clare last year, after the release of Clockwork Angel. <3
I over-use emoticons, so pardon me.
I am a vegetarian, have been since sixth grade.
I went veg on Chuck Norris' birthday. :D
I listen to mostly 90s grunge/rock, hard rock, metal, alternative rock, and some 80s/70s metal. I really hate autotune when it's very distinct. Ew!
I have always been mature for my age, and tend to get along with people a lot older than me better than kids my own age.
I LOVE The Simpsons, Starkid, Glee, and theater. I am active in theater around my area, and hope to one day be an entertainment lawyer.

Hello!

Hi Lea and all of the other members of Book Divas!

My name is Andrea. I have loved reading fantasy novels for years. My favorites are "Harry Potter" and "Percy Jackson." I have also gotten into Rick Riordan's newest series "The Kane Chronicles."

I'm a writer with a BA in Mass Communications-Journalism. After graduating college, I decided I wanted to try my hand at writing a book. After several attempts at stories that just didn't mesh, the idea of the perfect genre for me to try hit me while watching "The Seeker: The Dark is Rising": YA fantasy. So, I started writing "The Chosen," and three years later, it was published. I'm currently working on more stories for the series.

Other YA fantasies that I like include:

Dragonlance Chronicles
Twilight Series
Pern: Harper Hall Trilogy
Sons of Avalon

I'm always looking for more YA fantasies to check out, so if you know of any that I haven't listed, please share. Thanks! I look forward to chatting with you all.

Andrea
